All-University Awards Call for Nominations

I’m pleased to announce that nomination forms and instructions for the 2013-2014 All-University Awards are now available. Those selected for the William J. Beal Outstanding Faculty Awards (formerly the Distinguished Faculty Award), Teacher-Scholar Awards, Outreach Scholarship Community Partnership Award, Distinguished Academic Staff Awards, and Excellence-In-Teaching Citations will be recognized at the University’s annual Awards Convocation on February 11, 2014.

This marks the first year that the William J. Beal Outstanding Faculty Awards will be bestowed. Formerly the Distinguished Faculty Award, the new name honors the excellence and innovation exemplified by the scholarly work of William J. Beal. A pioneer in the science of botany, Dr. Beal worked to bring the most recent discoveries of the lab to farmers in their fields. His work embodied the University’s founding mission and its ongoing commitment to conduct research of the highest caliber to create solutions that expand human understanding and make a positive difference to improve the quality of life for individuals and communities, at home and around the world.

I strongly encourage you to share information about the awards and the awards Web site with faculty, academic staff, support staff, and students—and to begin the awards process at the earliest date possible.
