Spring Calendar Break Days
October 29, 2020Dear Educators and Staff,
A message will soon be sent to our student body with details about spring semester break days. As you know, there will be no spring break, originally scheduled to be March 8-12, in order to help reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus. Instead, we have scheduled the following break days, without classes, during the semester:
Tuesday and Wednesday, March 2-3 (the week prior to the previously scheduled spring break)
Thursday and Friday, April 22-23 (the last two days of the semester)
We are requesting that faculty not assign additional work expectations for the first two break days in March. The last two days are meant to provide the student body with study days before finals week.
Some professional programs will need to communicate clearly and individually with students to note any approved deviations from the modified calendar.
Please also note that classes will end on Wednesday, April 21, and finals week will be moved up one week. There also will be no classes held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 18.
Here is the message that will be going to students shortly. Please be prepared to send follow-up messages as needed.
My best,
Teresa K. Woodruff, Ph.D. (she/her/hers)
