Additional Resources for Spring 2023
Feb. 24, 2023
Dear Advisors,
Thank you for the skill and compassion you bring to your work each day. Each of you is vital to our students and of critical importance as our campus navigates the remainder of the semester.
Over the past couple of weeks, you helped devise and implement policies and procedures that will support students as they navigate through the spring semester. Thank you for that. As student success first responders, we know you have been called to support our students during an especially challenging time.
Details about Credit-No Credit (CR-NC) for spring semester 2023 are now available on the University Advising website. We will continue to update this page as new information and needs arise. Today, we would like to share two additional resources that have been put in place to support you:
- A new Advising Resource page that includes FAQs and features a broad range of supportive information related to responding to the violence of Feb. 13 – information advisors may find helpful as they continue to support students throughout the semester.
- The Trauma-Informed Response Training for Advisors Webinar on March 3 at 1 p.m. This session is designed to provide guidance in incorporating trauma-informed responses in advising, strategies to address secondary trauma, and a space to discuss advising-specific questions and concerns.
Early next week, Associate Provost Largent will share the Credit-No Credit FAQs page with undergraduates via email, and we will be sure to share that message with you before it goes out. Our aim is to get this resource to students quickly, so there is a central and authoritative resource toward which advisors can point students.
Again, thank you for all you do in support of students and their success. We rely on and deeply appreciate your dedication and expertise.
With gratitude,
Thomas D. Jeitschko
