Action Required: Submit Your Fall 2025 Textbook Information
July 21, 2025
Dear Educator,
As you prepare for the fall semester, I am reaching out with an important reminder and request for support to help our students start the semester successfully. I am asking for your timely assistance in submitting your course materials information—including textbooks, digital tools, and any required supplies. As of now, fewer than 30 percent of course sections have submitted this information, even though the deadline – March 31 – has already passed. Your prompt action is essential to help ensure compliance, reduce costs for students, and guarantee that all materials are available before the semester begins.
If you haven’t submitted this information yet, please access the Instructor Systems menu and select “Textbook and Material Entry/Update.”
Submitting your course materials is required. MSU is federally obligated under the Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) to provide students with accurate textbook information at the time of enrollment and we have a contractual agreement with the Spartan Bookstore to support this. Timely submissions ensure compliance, support student financial aid eligibility, and help the university fulfill its responsibilities while keeping course materials affordable and accessible. You can find out more information about the process by visiting the Office of the Registrar’s FAQ page under textbook compliance.
Most importantly, timely submission of course materials promotes affordability, equity, and access for students, allowing the bookstore to offer higher buy-back rates, retain rental inventory locally, and help ensure that all students, especially those relying on scholarships or financial aid, have the resources they need from day one.
Thank you for your partnership in supporting student success and helping us meet our institutional and legal responsibilities. If you have any questions, please contact the Spartan Bookstore at spartanbooks@bkstr.com.
Sincerely,
Thomas D. Jeitschko, Ph.D. (he/him)
